Cleaning Kit
Your system's calibration relies on clean, scratch-free optical surfaces. Fingerprints, dust, oily smears and scratches on lighting and lens surfaces contribute to performance degradation.
We have assembled a complete optical products cleaning kit that is quick and easily to use without damaging the sometimes fragile coatings and glass or plastic surfaces.
MidOpt Lens Cleaning Kit contents:
•
a 3oz (85ml) spray bottle of liposome-based cleaning solution (spray solution also sold separately)
• 1 4oz (115ml)
container of compressed air
• 2 booklets of no-scratch
lens tissue
• 12
low-lint applicator swabs
•
1 micro-fiber cloth
• all packaged in a water-resistant plastic container
When to Clean a Lens or Filter?
The short answer is as seldom as possible. As an old saying goes, "A dirty surface is better than a scratched surface." Lots of minute scratches will do more to degrade an image than a few specs of dust. Scratches tend to scatter light and therefore lower the contrast. So blow or brush loose dust off a lens when you see it there, but don't clean it "just to be sure." If it doesn't look dirty, leave it alone.
